Twenty people were evacuated Monday morning after an Orange Line train derailed in McKinley Park, prompting major service delays, officials said.
The inbound train derailed around 6:30 a.m. near the 35th/Archer station, according to a statement from the CTA. No one on board was injured, and the passengers were able to evacuate around 8:30 a.m., said Assistant Deputy Fire Commissioner Juan Hernandez.

“We worked with the CTA to transfer people to a safer area,” Hernandez said.
Major delays remain across the Orange Line Monday morning, and service is suspended between Ashland and 35th/Archer, the CTA said. Free shuttle buses will run between the two stations.
