PETALING JAYA: Datuk Rodzi Md Saad has been appointed as the new National Security Council (NSC) Director-General, says Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.
In congratulating Rodzi, Mohd Zuki said his appointment will take effect beginning Thursday (July 15).
He replaces Datuk Mohd Rabin Basir in the post.
The 57-year-old Rodzi holds a bachelor's degree in demographics and population studies (Hons) from Universiti Malaya and he has served in the civil service for 31 years, said Mohd Zuki.
"He also has wide experience in various fields, including security and disaster management. Before this, he was the deputy director-general of the NSC," added Mohd Zuki in a statement on Thursday.
Mohd Zuki said Rodzi's expertise and experience will complement the NSC's efforts in addressing the Covid-19 pandemic in Malaysia.
