KOTA KINABALU: Sabah registered 497 new Covid-19 cases on Monday (Oct 18), where a drop of seven cases from the day before saw the daily figure fall below the 500 mark.
"In fact, there were only 259 cases during the last 24 hours, the rest being delayed registration of backlog cases," said state Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
Kota Kinabalu district had the most cases at 71, followed by Kota Belud (48) and Tuaran (36).
No new clusters were reported, he added.
Masidi stressed that the effectiveness of Covid-19 vaccines was proven with 95.2% or 473 patients in Category One (no symptoms) and Category Two (mild symptoms).
"We also encourage even those with complete vaccination to continue living a healthy lifestyle and adhere to all standard operating procedures.
"This is to minimise infection risks, as even fully inoculated individuals can still be infected by this virus, as we all are aware," he said.
