KOTA KINABALU: A task force has been set up to expedite Sabah’s Construction Industry Vaccination programme (CIVac).
Malaysian Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) director Dr Roland Chia Ming Shen said members of the industry in Sabah could register for the vaccination programme via http://tinyurl.com/rrvdhje3.
“The vaccines are provided free of charge, but employees will need to pay for administrative costs of RM90 per person for the medical facilities and venue expenses as CIVac is a public-private initiative to accelerate vaccination to achieve herd immunity,” he said.
Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association president Datuk Chua Soon Ping said it would be encouraging all industry players to register for vaccination before July 18.
For projects under construction, he said the developers or contractors should register their site workers to enable them to resume work when vaccinations had been completed.
“We are glad the government has responded to our call to increase the vaccination rate in Sabah,” he added.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor had announced that Sabah would receive 2.2 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines within the next two months.
On another matter, two public parks here will be allowed to operate starting today as Sabah starts to ease rules for sports and recreation under Phase Two of the National Recovery Plan.
The two parks are Taman Ujana Rimba Tropika and Taman Tun Fuad Stephens (Bukit Padang), said Kota Kinabalu City Hall in a Facebook post.
