Joanna Yeates’ killer, Dutch engineer Vincent Tabak, was arrested five weeks after her death on January 20, 2011.

He was arrested after an anonymous caller tipped off the police, following another televised appeal by Yeates’ parents.

Tabak had originally been ruled out as a suspect early in the investigation.

In late December, he even contacted Avon and Somerset Police in an attempt to frame landlord Christopher Jefferies.

He told police Jefferies had used his car on the evening of December 17, 2010, which was not true.

Yeates was killed on December 17, 2010, with her body discovered on Christmas Day.

       Where is Vincent Tabak now?

Tabak, 32, was Yeates’ next-door neighbour and after two days of questioning, he was charged on January 22, 2011, with her murder.

Vincent is allegedly serving his 20-year sentence, at HM Prison, Wakefield, after being convicted for murder.

Temporary assistant chief constable Julian Moss said: "Vincent Tabak is a dangerous, calculating and manipulative offender who is already serving a life sentence for the murder of Joanna Yeates.

“During the course of the investigation into Joanna’s murder, indecent images of children were found on Tabak’s laptop.

“These offences did not form part of the initial murder trial.

“Although he’s serving a minimum tariff of 20 years’ imprisonment, we felt it was crucial Tabak was brought to justice for possessing indecent images of children, so the full nature of Tabak’s offending is on record."
