PETALING JAYA: PKR Youth urges Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Salleh to take responsibility and stop the rhetoric on the KK Super Mart socks issue, which has been escalating.

       PKR Youth information chief Nabil Hakimi said a politician should help calm the situation and not exacerbate it.

       "Dr Akmal should realise that his actions had contributed to the rising tension after his call to boycott the business," Nabil said in a statement on Monday (April 1).

       "Islam should be defended with wisdom and not with excessive anger," he added.

       Nabil said youth leaders should be radical in uniting the idealism of the Malaysian race and not become the destroyer of the social fabric of the country that was built by our forefathers.

       "As such, PKR Youth calls on all Malaysians to be calm and give enough space and trust to the police to carry out their duties in handling the case.

       "Maintain the peace and the principles of living in harmony which are the basis and strength of our country," he added.
