SEGAMAT: Two firemen and a worker were injured due to an explosion while putting out fire at a factory, here.
Bandar Baru Segamat fire station operation commander Mazuki Ismail said that they received an call about a fire at a factory in Segamat at about 5am on Saturday (Dec 11).
"A total of 22 firemen from the Bandar Baru Segamat and Labis fire station were deployed to the scene," he said.
"While putting out the fire, an explosion took place on level three of the factory that led to the collapse of part of the factory's structure," added Mazuki.
He said in a statement on Sunday (Dec 12) that two firemen and one factory worker were injured and have been sent to the Segamat Hospital.
The two injured firemen are Syed Putra Syed Mohd Al Atas, 52, and Mohd Firdaus Sulaiman, 32, while the injured factory worker was Mohamad Azura Mahrani, 40.
It was learnt that as of 3pm on Sunday (Dec 12), only two of the victims were still seeking treatment at the hospital while one had been allowed to return home after receiving outpatient treatment.
