Nigel Farage hit out at Labour after new figures on migration were released. The Home Office data shows that a total of 111,084 people applied for asylum in the UK in the year to June 2025.
It is the highest number for any 12-month period since current records began in 2001. Reform UK leader Mr Farage said: "New figures out today show record numbers claiming asylum under Labour. Our streets are becoming more dangerous yet this disaster only gets worse. The public are right to be very angry with this government."

The figures also showed that the number of migrants being housed in hotels has risen by 8% under Labour on the same point last year.
The revelation come just days after a court ruled that more than 100 asylum seekers currently staying at a hotel in Essex should be removed after a council brought a legal case.

Meanwhile, the number of Channel migrants being deported has fallen under Labour.
Some 2,330 people who arrived on small boats have been removed during Sir Keir Starmer's first full year in office.
The figure is 7% lower than the 2,516 sent back in the final year of the Conservative Government.
