Drivers in Wales overwhelmingly oppose the 20mph speed limit, new polling shows.
The YouGov poll found 72% of Welsh people are against the controversial policy, while just 24% support the lower limit.

The speed limit is least popular among Tory and Reform UK voters, but 59% of Labour backers are still against it.
Meanwhile, four in 10 Welsh drivers admitted to exceeding the limit "most" or "all the time" in the poll of 1,151 adults carried out between July 24-29.
Welsh Tory leader Andrew RT Davies said: “Labour’s default 20mph speed limit is one of the most unpopular policies in the devolved era in Wales.

“The public is vehemently opposed to this measure, which is why there is a record-breaking petition calling for it to be repealed.
“The Welsh Conservatives would end the war on motorists, which Labour started in Wales and London, and scrap Labour’s barmy 20mph speed limits.”
Last September, Wales became the first country in the UK to drop the default speed limit from 30mph to 20mph for built-up areas.

The Welsh Government has said that cutting the speed limit would protect lives and save the NHS in Wales ￡92million a year.
But the move sparked controversy with a record-breaking petition against it signed by almost 470,000 people.
The Welsh Government has since reverted some roads back to 20mph following the backlash.
