KUALA LUMPUR: Seven foreigners, including five women, have been detained in a raid on a brothel in Jalan Silang here.
The women comprised three Indonesians and two Indian nationals, while a male Myanmar national, believed to be a customer, and a male Nepalese worker were also arrested.
Immigration Dept director-general Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud said some of the women and customer hid in secret rooms and passageways during the raid on Wednesday (Jan 5).
"Immigration personnel had to break down a wall at the premises as the worker would not open the doors," he said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 6).
Initial investigations revealed that the prostitutes charged between RM30 and RM60 for their services, he added.
"Each woman serves 10 to 12 customers daily and even more on weekends.
"The brothel operates from 9am to 9pm," he added.
Khairul Dzaimee said each woman was also charged RM25 daily for a room, condoms, tissues and lubricant.
"The fees must be settled with the caretaker of the premises at the end of every working day," he added.
Among the offences committed by those detained were not having identification documents, overstaying, and violating requirements for passes, he added.
"Those detained have been brought to the Immigration Depot in Semenyih," he said.
He urged anyone with information on undocumented immigrants or any crime involving foreigners to contact the department.
"Enforcement operations will continue not just to nab undocumented migrants but to bust immoral activities involving foreigners," he said.
