KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will be charging Labuan MP Datuk Rozman Isli for corruption at the Kuala Lumpur sessions court on Thursday (Oct 14).

       The Warisan politician confirmed this, saying that it was related to an allegation that he abused his power as a board member of the Labuan Port for personal interest a few years ago when he was part of the government.

       "I was only one of nine members of the board. I was not even the chairman of the board. I am ready to fight it.

       "I am not worried, I want to fight this abuse of power," he said when contacted on Wednesday (Oct 13).

       Rozman said that the tentative dates for him to be charged were changed at least two times over the past one year.

       "Some people have been asking me to leave Warisan and join the government. I have refused.

       "I will face the charge, I will fight it in court," he said.

       Rozman said that he believed that it was a move to also tarnish his reputation ahead of the coming general elections.

       However, he said he would give a full statement on Thursday (Oct 14).

       Rozman won the Labuan seat in 2013 as an Umno member, but quit to join Warisan in 2018 after the general election.
