JOHOR BARU: The Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme for Hari Raya Aidilfitri will be extended until May 10, says Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
"It was previously announced that the Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme will be implemented until May 6," said the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister.
He said that the ministry has been receiving requests from the public for the scheme to be implemented longer for this festive season.
"However, after receiving feedback from the public, we have decided to extend the implementation of the scheme for four more days," he said at a press conference on Thursday (April 28) after visiting a petrol station here.
Nanta added that the decision was made during the National Action Council on Cost of Living (Naccol) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob last week.
On April 21, the minister announced that the Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme for Hari Raya Aidilfitri would be implemented from April 26 until May 6.
He said that 22 items under four categories will be placed under the price control schemes.
