PETALING JAYA: The special meeting by the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) to discuss the stock-trading scandal involving Tan Sri Azam Baki this Wednesday (Jan 19), has been postponed indefinitely, says Dewan Rakyat secretary Dr Nizam Mydin Bacha Mydin.

Nizam said a new date for the meeting will be announced soon and said that the delay was due to several legal issues that needed to be ironed out by the Parliament’s Legal Advisor’s Office.

The letter by Nizam was dated Monday (Jan 17) and was addressed to all MPs.

MPs also confirmed the authenticity of the letter when contacted by The Star.

Azam, who is Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner, was expected to be questioned by the PSC for Agencies under the Prime Minister’s Department over his involvement in the share trading controversy at 2pm on Wednesday (Jan 19).

PSC committee member and Kota Kinabalu MP Chan Foong Hin had said that Azam had been notified and was expected to appear before the nine-member committee.
