Russian state TV presenter says war in Ukraine 'has already escalated into World War 3'
Volodymyr Zelensky has said that “all of the countries of the world” should prepare for Vladimir Putin possibly using nuclear weapons on Ukraine.
The Ukrainian president made this assertion during an interview with CNN at his office in Kyiv.
He said there is a chance that his Russian counterpart Putin could turn to either nuclear or chemical weapons because he does not value the lives of Ukrainians.
Mr Zelensky said, in English: “Not only me – all of the world, all of the countries have to be worried because it can be not real information, but it can be truth.
“Chemical weapons, they should do it, they could do it, for them the life of the people, nothing. That’s why.
“We should think not be afraid, not be afraid but be ready. But that is not a question for Ukraine, not only for Ukraine but for all the world, I think.”

1650087659 Russia warns US against arming Ukraine over ‘unpredictable consequences’
Russia has told the US to stop arming Ukraine in a diplomatic note that warned of “unpredictable consequences” if it continues.
The note was reportedly sent earlier this week as the US was preparing to announce an $800m military aid package to Ukraine.
The Biden administration is sending Kyiv a high-power combination of weaponry for the fight against Vladimir Putin’s troops, which includes 11 Mi-17 helicopters, 18 155 mm Howitzer cannons and 300 more Switchblade drones.
An administration official told CNN that the Russian note proved how impactful the US weaponry shipments to Ukraine had been.

1650082774 Zelensky says ‘difficult’ to predict how long war with Russia will last
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky said the war could last for “years” if his country does not receive the support it needs from the international community, as part of his latest late-night video address from the capital Kyiv on Friday night.“
Of course, I also hear different predictions [about how long war will last],” Zelensky said, adding: “I have much more information than some media outlets about the intentions and capabilities of the Russian army. About the potential of the Russian economy. About the emotional state of society in Russia.”
While celebrating Ukraine’s resistance against the Russian invasion, and “the success of our military on the battlefield,” Zelensky said “economically painful sanctions against Russia” and “stronger, more destructive” weapons will help in the fight against Putin.
“If someone says: year or years, I answer: you can make the war much shorter. The more and the sooner we get all the weapons we have requested, the stronger our position will be, and the sooner peace will come.”
