Presentation of the Valdai Club Report ‘Russia - India: Formula for Economic Cooperation’

On February 25 at 12:00 noon Moscow Time (GMT+3), the Valdai Discussion Club will host a presentation of the report “Russia - India: Formula for Economic Cooperation”.

The report is a large-scale study of the dynamically developing economic and trade relations between Russia and India. The text contains practical recommendations aimed at expanding cooperation in various areas. It examines in detail partnerships in the nuclear industry, in the field of transport and logistics, in the supply of agricultural products, fertilizers, oil, oil products and other energy sources, as well as joint initiatives in the Arctic and the Far East.

The report states that India’s huge, progressive domestic market is its main resource, one which will drive increasing competition between all major players. “Each of them expects certain preferences, offering India something in return. Russian business is learning to work in the conditions of such large-scale competition and sees support from both the Indian authorities and the Russian government,” notes Lydia Kulik, the author of the report.

What is the formula for success in Russian-Indian cooperation? Which projects received support in the development of “Programme-2030”, announced following the summit between President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2024? How will the policy of the new US administration affect bilateral relations? The participants of the discussion will try to answer these and other questions.
