KUALA LUMPUR: The wheels of democracy ran smoothly on Wednesday (Sept 22), with no verbal clashes between the government and Opposition in Parliament, says Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The Transport Minister described the situation in the Dewan Rakyat, which saw ministers wind up the debate on the motion of thanks for the Royal Address on behalf of their respective ministries in Parliament on Wednesday, as "calm and harmonious".
"Parliament members who did interrupt only wanted explanations or to give ideas or suggestions to the Ministers," he said in a Facebook post.
In the post, Dr Wee uploaded a selfie with Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan with Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun delivering her wind-up debate behind them.
"After this, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan who sits beside me will give his wind-up debate," he said thanking all the MPs who sincerely listened to the ministers' replies.
