SUBANG JAYA: Tumblers taken from a cafe led to the discovery of dozens of other stolen items after police arrested a thief who targeted shops at a mall here.
Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said a cafe server noticed something amiss during a stock-take on Thursday (Nov 9).
Noticing that two tumblers worth around RM250 each were missing, the server informed police.
"CCTV footage showed that at around 12.15pm the same day, a man in a white shirt and long black pants had stuffed the tumblers into a bag before leaving.
"Acting on information gathered, a team from the Bandar Sunway station arrested a 24-year-old suspect at the mall's main entrance.
"The stolen goods were found inside his bag," ACP Wan Azlan said in a statement on Friday (Nov 10).
Follow-up investigations found that the suspect had also robbed a sports apparel shop there on Oct 15, leading to losses of over RM2,000.
