Exhausted frontliners urged to take a rest

SUNGAI SIPUT: Healthcare workers at Covid-19 vaccination centres who are suffering from physical and mental exhaustion should inform their superiors about their condition and ask for a temporary rest, says Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali.

“The Health Ministry is always thinking of mobilising the front line healthcare workforce so that the Covid-19 vaccination programme can run smoothly,” he said after visiting the vaccination centre at the Kuala Kangsar Municipal Council Hall here yesterday.

He said the ministry was aware of the mental and physical fatigue experienced by some healthcare workers as they had to work beyond their normal schedule.

Meanwhile, he said the ministry had taken note of an alleged sexual harassment incident at a vaccination centre in Johor Baru on Sunday.

“Action must be taken as incidents like this one can scare people from going to vaccination centres to get their jabs,” he said. — Bernama
