PETALING JAYA: Bersatu will amend its constitution to ensure that its elected representatives toe the party line, says its secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

The move comes following declarations of support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim by six Bersatu MPs without violating anti-hopping laws.

“We have also agreed to take legal action against any elected representatives who have betrayed the party in order for their seats to be vacated.

He added that the council agreed to amend Article 10 of its party constitution to avoid instances of its elected representatives expressing support for the other side from recurring.
