PUTRAJAYA: Graft investigators have arrested a couple to help look into claims of leaked information involving a RM1.2mil tender awarded by the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA).
The 44-year-old husband and his 42-year-old wife were arrested at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters here on Tuesday (March 22) evening.
They were brought before Magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim on Wednesday (March 23) for a five-day remand application.
It is learnt that the woman is a director involved in the selection process of contracts and tenders awarded by the MHA.
Sources said she was believed to have leaked information on a tender worth RM1.2mil to her husband.
“In return, the company which her husband owned was appointed as a subcontractor to another company which was awarded a project involving an electronics system in 2020,” said a source.
The duo was arrested under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009.
