SEREMBAN: A new re-mention date has been set for the self-employed man and his daughter who were jointly charged with the murder of a five-year-old girl here.

The new date for the case involving the two is July 18, and it was given by Magistrate Mohd Firdaus Saleh after Deputy Public Prosecutor Hafizah Zainul Hashim told the court that her team had yet to get the post-mortem, chemist and forensic reports of the victim.

Both the 41-year-old man and his daughter - who turns 18 in October - were jointly charged with murdering Hanan Hasrul Izwan, at a house in Taman Nee Yan near here at around 7pm on March 3.

Her skeletal remains were found near a residential area in April.

They were first charged before Mohd Firdaus on April 13 for an offence under Section 302 of the Penal Code read together with Section 34 of the same Act.

Mohd Firdaus also fixed July 18 to hear another case involving the male suspect who had been charged of voluntarily causing grievous hurt to one Siti Sharifah Aibiddin, 35, at the same house.

This was after Hafizah told the court that the victim's medical report was not ready.

He was charged with committing the offence between Dec 1 last year and March 23.

The accused was charged under Section 325 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to seven years and a fine or both upon conviction.

The court gave the same date for re-mention of another case where the suspect had been charged for neglect against Siti Sharifah's 20-month-old son Sufiy Hasrul Izwan.

Murder victim Hanan Hasrul was Siti Sharifah’s daughter.

He was charged under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act which carries a fine of up to RM50,000 or a jail term of up to 20 years or both upon conviction.

Muhammad Farid Wajdi Hanif kept a watching brief for Siti Sharifah's family while both the accused were not represented.

At another Magistrate's court, the male accused, who is also facing another charge of murdering 29-year-old Merriamah Abdullah Basam, was also ordered to return on July 18 for the case to be re-mentioned.

This was after the court heard that the relevant reports were also not yet ready.

Merriamah's remains were found in a ravine along Jalan Bukit Putus on March 20.

He allegedly committed the crime between March 13 and 15 at the same house.

Earlier, at the Sessions Court, the suspect was also asked to return to court on July 18 for the re-mention of another case of causing grievous hurt to Siti Sharifah by splashing hot water on her, causing her to suffer serious burns.

He allegedly committed the offence between Dec 1 and March 23 at the same house.

He was charged under Section 326 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to 20 years, fine and whipping if found guilty.
