JOHOR BARU: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin says he is prepared to take full responsibility following the Perikatan Nasional coalition's dismal performance in the Johor state election and is ready to resign.
The Perikatan Nasional chairman said he would let his position be decided by the coalition's top leadership.
"I am prepared at any time if any of the party leaders make such a decision regarding my position.
"I will accept it," he told reporters during a press conference at Perikatan's main operation centre in Senai here late Saturday (March 12) night.
Perikatan only managed to secure three seats - Endau, Bukit Kepong and Maharani - out of the 56 seats it contested in the polls.
Muhyiddin also conceded defeat and accepted the wishes of the Johor people.
He also noted that a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the reason behind its performance in the Johor polls.
Asked if he was prepared to work with other opposition parties, he said such matters had not been discussed.
