SEREMBAN: A policeman attached to the Jempol district police headquarters Special Branch unit was killed in an accident at KM9 of Bahau-Kemayan road.

       Kpl J. Vimel, 34, was travelling alone towards the police station from Bahau, when he was believed to have lost control of his car at 2.50am on Wednesday (Aug 11).

       State deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Che Zakaria Othman said the car crashed into a pole.

       "Kpl Vimel suffered serious head injuries and died at the scene," he said.

       Kpl Vimel, who was from Sarawak, had served the police force for eight years. He was married and had a child.
