PETALING JAYA: Some 90% of those aged between 12 and 17 in Malaysia have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Sharing this on his Twitter, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the country had achieved a significant milestone.
“We have achieved a significant milestone today with 90% of our 12 to 17-years-old population receiving at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
“For seniors, get your booster as soon as it’s available,” he wrote, sharing the latest statistics from CovidNow yesterday.
Khairy also reminded Malaysians that the country’s infectivity level was nearing 1.0 again.
“Two weeks ago, we were above 1.0 and we all played a role in bringing this down. We can do it. Masks, distance, avoid crowded places, boosters, take care of your parents and #TRIIS,” he said. TRIIS stands for ‘test, report, isolate, inform and seek.
Khairy also retweeted a post by Dr Mahesh Appannan urging those unvaccinated to get their jabs as the fatality rate among them was almost 35 times in comparison to those who were inoculated.
