KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: MP Fayez Al-Jomhour has asked the Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdullah Essa Al-Salman to cancel the license of a spa for organizing a belly dancing training course. This led to the withdrawal of the spa’s license and cancellation of the training course. Al-Jomhour stressed that he will always act as a ‘solid rock’ to foil any attempt to make the Kuwaiti society deviate from its religion and traditions.

MP Soud Bu Sleeb considers it too late for the Council of Ministers to cancel Kuwait Mosafer application and revise provisions that limit the freedom of citizens. On the other hand, the lawmaker welcomed the resumption of commercial activities and the return to normal life. However, he criticized the delayed resumption of activities in mosques; such as sermons and sessions for memorizing the Holy Quran, considering that worshippers are the most committed to health regulations aimed at curbing the spread of coronavirus. He called on Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Essa Al-Kandari to accelerate procedures for resumption of normal life in mosques.

In another development, MP Al-SaifiMubarak Al-Saifiposted on his Twitter account that financing housing loans should be a top priority. He also voiced objection to attempts to disrupt the citizens’ plans. He affirmed support for the proposal of his colleagues to amend the law on establishing Kuwait Credit Bank (KCB) and increase its capital. Meanwhile, MP Farz Al-Daihani submitted a proposal for the Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS) to grant interest free loans to needy retirees and the disabled. He suggested the maximum amount of the loan should be KD 30,000 By Saeed Mahmoud Saleh Arab Times Staff
