       About the incident with the burning caravan, Highways England posted on Twitter: "30 minute delays and approximately 7 miles of congestion approaching a lane 1 (of 3) closure on the #M6 southbound J28 (#Leyland #B5256) to J27 (#Wigan #Parbold) due to an earlier vehicle fire.

       "Recovery is on scene.

       "Please allow additional time for your journey this afternoon."
