       A woman was killed when her car hit a Metrobus in the Fairland area of Montgomery County, police said.

       Montgomery County police officials said the crash happened around 8 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Fairland Road and Fairridge Drive. An initial investigation found that the woman, who was driving a Toyota Camry west on Fairland Road, crossed into the eastbound lane and hit a Metrobus that had no passengers on it.

       Officials said the bus driver was not hurt. The woman, who was 63 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene. She is not being identified until her family has been notified, police said.

       The crash remains under investigation.
