Police in Montgomery County said a 49-year-old woman died after a crash along Midcounty Highway in Gaithersburg.

       The crash happened just before 8 p.m. Monday along the highway near Saybrooke Oaks Boulevard, according to Montgomery County police.

       The woman’s name was not released, pending the notification of her family. She died at a hospital.

       Police said she was driving a Honda CRV north on the highway and was making a left onto Saybrooke Oaks Boulevard when she collided with a Toyota Camry that was headed in the opposite direction. The CRV rolled and hit a large metal traffic light before it landed on its side, police said.

       The driver of the Camry was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The crash remains under investigation.
