ALOR GAJAH: Three police stations have had to halt operations here due to Covid-19 within a month.
Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Arshad Abu said the Masjid Tanah station was the latest that has been temporarily closed by the Melaka Health Department after several officers and personnel tested positive.
"The police station will be closed starting tomorrow (Aug 18) until Merdeka Day on Aug 31," he said on Tuesday (Aug 17).
Supt Arshad said the Alor Gajah police headquarters would send reinforcements for patrolling and other crime prevention duties.
He added that locals under the Masjid Tanah police jurisdiction could contact the Alor Gajah police response centre at 06-556 4153 or 06-556 6573.
Last month, the Durian Tunggal station closed from July 19 to July 22.
Two days before Durian Tunggal, the Kuala Sungai Baru police station was also closed from July 17 to July 26 due to Covid-19.
