KUCHING: First it was Spider-Man, now Iron Man has become the latest hero to show up at Kozi Square here for his Covid-19 vaccine shot.

       Both times, the man in the costume was 32-year-old Mohd Syah Nizam Rajap.

       His arrival caused a stir at about 11.15am when he showed up for his second dose of vaccine, three weeks after getting his first shot.

       "When I came as Spider-Man, there was a good response from people at the vaccination centre and I could see that it gave them a thrill.

       "So I decided to dress up as a superhero again because I want to entertain the staff and volunteers.

       "For them, it's the same routine every day. This is something different for them to look at," he said.

       Mohd Syah, who works at Tabung Baitulmal, said it also made him happy when people cheered up at the sight of him in costume.

       "I'm doing this out of sincerity. I just want to make people happy and cheerful," he said.

       At the same time, he wanted to do his part to encourage vaccination among the public.

       "I hope to give people the confidence to get vaccinated," he added.
