Indonesia mulls over sending fishermen on patrol amid gas drilling dispute in South China Sea

       JAKARTA - The Indonesian authorities are considering sending fishermen to report irregular activities in the waters north of Natuna Islands, near the contested South China Sea, following China's demand that Indonesia stop drilling for oil and gas in the area.

       Colonel Wisnu Pramandita, spokesman for the Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla), said the state will train and pay fishermen to join patrols by the agency and the navy.
