TAIPING: Police here are on the lookout for a Covid-19 patient who ran away with two others, while they were being registered for admission to a quarantine centre in Kamunting.
Taiping OCPD Asst Comm Osman Mamat said the other two patients had been found.
He said the three, aged between 20 and 35, had run away in the middle of the registration process at the Rakan Muda Complex, which has been turned into a quarantine centre, at about 7.15pm on Wednesday (Aug 18).
“They were supposed to be quarantined for 10 days. After their disappearance, a medical assistant at the centre lodged a report the same night.
“Based on the information received, we managed to locate two of the men who were hiding in the storeroom of a house in Kamunting.
“Both of them were brought back to the quarantine centre in an ambulance,” he said on Thursday (Aug 19).
ACP Osman added that police were trying to locate the third missing patient.
He also denied viral messages claiming that the three patients were roaming around market areas, banks and other public places.
