PETALING JAYA: Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) will be hosting its second annual “Minggu Saham Digital” (MSD 2021) from Nov 17 to Nov 23.
The event is aimed at raising financial literacy standards and empowering Malaysians to make better financial decisions for their future.
At yesterday’s pre-launch of MSD 2021, PNB said this year’s MSD theme is “#LaburBersama”. This is after the successful inaugural run in 2020, which gained about two million views.
PNB president and group chief executive Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn said in his speech: “We believe that while planning for your financial well being is a serious matter, learning the ropes need not be.
“With the official theme #LaburBersama, MSD makes available various resources and educational materials on unit trust investments, risk and return and financial planning for all Malaysians in the comfort of their own homes.”
“With the same goal as its predecessor ‘Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia’, MSD remains as PNB’s integrated financial literacy platform,” he added.
Also present at the event were the corporate leaders, representing PNB partners.
In the Rakan Premier category, Malayan Banking Bhd was represented by group president and CEO Datuk Abdul Farid Alias, Sime Darby Plantation Bhd by group managing director Mohamad Helmy Othman Basha and UMW Holdings Bhd by president and group CEO Datuk Ahmad Fuaad Kenali.
MSD is an evolution from “Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia”, which was held physically for two decades from 2000 until 2019.
The digital event is now accessible to a much wider audience throughout the country from the comfort of their own homes and at the touch of their fingertips.
MSD 2021 will be broadcast daily between 12.30pm and 10pm from Nov 17 to Nov 23 through its official Facebook page and YouTube channel, featuring over 70 edutainment programmes, and intriguing conversations in a series of talk shows and webinars by subject matter experts, key industry players, personalities and celebrities.
The MSD 2021 official launching ceremony is scheduled on Nov 18 at 1pm via live streaming at the official Facebook and YouTube of “Minggu Saham Digital”.
“PNB’s focus on creating value and generating long-term sustainable returns for its unit holders goes hand in hand with its commitment to raise financial literacy standards and empowering Malaysians to make better financial decisions for their future,” Ahmad Zulqarnain said.
