KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan will announce a series of “offers” to Johor voters under its “Johor Bangkit: Maju, Bermaruah” campaign slogan for the upcoming Johor state election.

The Pakatan presidential council said the offers encompass aspects of economic development, social stability and political reforms, with details to be announced before the start of the campaign period.

In its meeting on Wednesday, the council also agreed to organise a series of tours to promote its candidates once all PH component parties had finalised their lists of candidates.

“This is to show Pakatan’s preparedness in offering a leadership line-up capable of forming a more stable Johor government and one that is prepared to develop the state post-pandemic,” the council said in a statement yesterday.

The statement was jointly signed by PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) president Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau, reported Bernama.

In another development, the council also noted that the engagements with Members of Parliament to discuss the anti-hopping bill which began on Wednesday was in line with Pakatan’s aspirations and the ruling Federal Government as stated in the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by both parties last September.

It said Article 2.4 of the MOU clearly states that the bill should be tabled in Parliament before or by March 24.

The MOU on Political Stability and Transformation signed by Pakatan and the government on Sept 13 last year has six agendas, covering the strengthening of the Covid-19 plan, administrative transformation, Parliamentary reform, independence of the judiciary, the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and the formation of a steering committee.
