AYER KEROH: Pakatan Harapan has many qualified candidates in the Melaka polls to choose from to be the next Chief Minister, says Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

       The Selangor PKR chief said Pakatan has two former chief ministers who could take on the role; Datuk Seri Idris Haron and Melaka Pakatan Harapan chairman Adly Zahari.

       "Let us win first and see who is qualified. Then we will announce it," he said during a virtual press conference on Tuesday (Nov 9).

       The Selangor Mentri Besar said all parties have their own view on who is more qualified, adding that Pakatan did not name their candidate for the post during the previous election in 2018.

       "This time, we have a few candidates that can be highlighted but it will be decided once we win," he said.

       Amirudin also played down talk of DAP’s dissatisfaction with PKR and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) for taking in and fielding two former Umno assemblymen and allowing them to contest under the Pakatan banner.

       He said that all decisions will be made based on discussion and consensus.
