KUANTAN: Pahang PKR leaders are proposing that Pakatan Harapan use the PKR logo again in the 15th General Election (GE15).

       They said that although Pakatan has its own logo, it was still not known to many, especially in the rural areas of the peninsular and most of Sabah and Sarawak.

       "In the last general election, it was mutually agreed for the PKR logo to be used to represent Pakatan throughout the campaign and Pakatan made history by winning GE14 and successfully forming the government.

       "The compatibility of the PKR logo helped Pakatan win because PKR is the only party that has machinery and branches in all 222 parliamentary constituencies including Sabah and Sarawak," said the leaders in a statement issued by state PKR communications bureau chief Wan Fauzuldin Wan Samad.

       They added that the use of the logo would not pose a problem because it had long been recognised in the peninsular and in Sabah and Sarawak.

       "Given that GE15 is so close, Pakatan is running out of time to introduce its logo and surely there will be risks if it is used.

       "If Pakatan succeeds in forming the government after GE15, then we have plenty of time and opportunity to introduce the Pakatan logo to be used in any by-election after that and in GE16," they said.

       The statement was co-signed by 11 state PKR division chiefs as well as the chiefs of the state PKR youth and women's wings.

       "In this regard, we suggest that Pakatan can decide for the PKR logo to be used to represent Pakatan in GE15. We believe that all parties in Pakatan will be open and not prejudiced against this proposal in order to realise the next victory and then bring on the reform agenda that we dreamt of together.

       "Hopefully our views in representing the grassroots' voice will get serious attention and due consideration," they said.
