Residents of Essex, Suffolk and London will be treated to a second military jet flypast this weekend as the NFL games are taking place in London. US jets will fly over the county this Sunday as they head to London for the NFL International Series game.

Four F-15s performed a practice flight on Friday - and the real deal will be on Sunday.

They will be taking off at RAF Lakenheath and travelling to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in north London in the afternoon.

RAF Lakenheath is in Suffolk, just a few miles from Mildenhall and Thetford, to the north of Bury St Edmunds and to the south of Norwich.

The planes will travel south over Suffolk and Essex before arriving in London to open the NFL game.

The flypast will begin at 2.15pm on Sunday, and the jets will arrive at the stadium at 2.45pm.

The jets will fly over the stadium on the last note of the United States national anthem, before the game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Miami Dolphins.

The flyovers will be done by the 492nd Fighter Squadron, which is a part of the 48th Fighter Wing at RAF Lakenheath.

The four aircraft are based at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk and will consist of two F-15C/D Eagles and two F-15E Strike Eagles.

Flyovers like this are done "to showcase the capabilities of the aircraft while also inspiring patriotism and future generations of aviation enthusiasts".

The route begins from RAF Lakenheath before heading south to the south-west of Colchester before heading for Chelmsford as the holding area.

The aircraft will then fly west towards north London and over the stadium before circling back round and past Norfolk towards the base again.

The expected route is as follows:

? RAF Lakenheath to SW Colchester

? Head for Chelmsford which will be holding area

? Fly west to North London and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium Flypast

? Circle back the way they came

? Burn off fuel over Norfolk

       ? Return to RAF Lakenheath

The jets will likely be visible from surrounding towns and villages - so keep an eye out for them flying past your home.

The jets are American twin-engine, all-weather tactical fighter aircraft, primarily used by the United States Air Force and the Israeli air force.

This type of plane first flew in July 1972, and entered service in 1976.

It is among the most successful of modern fighter jets.
