The busy London underground station has been closed this afternoon. Fire engines and police have reportedly been seen in the area. Witnesses have described the situation as "scary". In a tweet, TfL wrote: "The Bakerloo, Central and Victoria line station is currently closed.

       "This is while we investigate a fire alert."

       They latest confirmed all the lines have since reopened.

       London Fire Brigade crews are currently at the scene after being called at around 3pm today.

       One witness, @amnajanine, wrote on Twitter: "Fire engines, police and emergency sirens from Oxford Circus station, gates closed n all. Scary."
