Masaki Aiba, left, and Sho Sakurai
Sho Sakurai and Masaki Aiba, members of the hugely popular Japanese boy band Arashi that went on hiatus at the end of 2020, announced their marriages on the same day via the group's official fan club website.
A statement released by 39-year-old Sakurai on Sept. 28 read, "Thank you for your constant support. Today, I have something I'd like to announce as fast as possible. I, Sho Sakurai, have gotten married." Meanwhile, 38-year-old Aiba said in his statement, "Thank you for your constant support. Today, I have an important announcement. Excuse me for my personal matters, but on this occasion, I, Masaki Aiba, am getting married."
In their messages, the two thanked fans for their support and cited that as the reason why they are able to keep on working, and pledged to keep doing their best.
Arashi member Kazunari Ninomiya, 38, had announced in November 2019 that he had married a former TV presenter.
