PETALING JAYA: Of the 10 newly announced enhanced movement control orders on Friday (Aug 13), nine are located in Sabah.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, in a statement today, said that localities in Kota Kinabalu, Beaufort, Kalabakan, Kota Marudu, Putatan and Tawau had been placed under EMCO along with Cameron Highlands in Pahang.
All newly announced EMCOs would begin Aug 15 and end on Aug 28.
Meanwhile, four localities in Sabah have had their EMCO status extended to Aug 28, from its original end date of Aug 14.
The localities affected were Kampung Siansai Dundau, Sri Semarak PPR, Kampung Sembulan Tengah & Lama and Kampung Tempasuk 1.
On enforcement statistics, the government had ordered 48 premises to close following Covid-19 spot checks.
The authorities also issued compounds to 208 people, with 16 remanded.
Under Ops Benteng, 11 illegal immigrants have been arrested, with five vehicles seized.
