SHAH ALAM: A family of seven needs help to be evacuated from their home at Jalan Tegap 25/98 at Taman Sri Muda.

       Balram Tikaram Kami said his family of seven had limited water and food, both of which are quickly running out.

       According to him, his 74-year-old disabled granduncle, parents aged 62 and 53, 16-year-old sister, daughters aged seven and three as well as a domestic helper, 33, were trapped on the second floor of their home.

       "Our food and water will only last for one more day. We need to relocate urgently as there is no electricity and we are afraid that we are going to be in deep trouble if it starts to rain again," added Balram.

       According to him, the first floor of the house was already submerged in water.

       Balram and his family are among the scores of people trapped in their homes at Taman Sri Muda.

       Many are desperate as they won't be able to reach out for help once their cell phone batteries go out as there is no electricity supply with which to recharge them.
