KUALA LUMPUR: A road accident involving a cement truck has left one injured.
City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Asst Comm Sarifudin Mohd Salleh in a statement on Thursday (March 17), said that the accident occurred after the driver lost control of his vehicle.
"The driver suffered serious injuries to his right hand," he said.
"Investigations showed that the driver was heading towards Damansara Pavilion and when he was at the scene of the incident in Jalan Semantan he lost control of his vehicle, leading to it crashing on its side.
The City Fire and Rescue Department in a statement said that a team from the Hartamas fire station was sent to Jalan Semantan after a report on the accident.
"The cement truck was found turned on its side and a 40-year-old driver was stuck inside.
"The victim was extracted and sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment," the department said.
