JOHOR BARU: A heavy downpour caused flash floods to hit several parts of the city here, causing panic with even the police having to close a road for public safety.
Flash floods started to appear within 10 minutes after the downpour started at about 2.15pm, affecting roads such as Jalan Tebrau, Jalan Serampang and Jalan Tun Abdul Razak.
A policeman was seen closing off vehicle access to Jalan Tun Abdul Razak due to rising flood waters.
A video making rounds on social media shows flash floods hitting Jalan Tebrau, with a car stranded in the water.
However, flash floods quickly subsided when the heavy rain stopped at around 4pm.
