PETALING JAYA: P.A. Resources Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary P.A. Extrusion (M) Sdn Bhd has won an extension of supply agreement from its client, the First Solar group.
The contract is valued at US$231.9mil (RM1.08bil).
The contract will run from Jan 2 this year to July 1, 2025 to supply goods for the production of photovoltaic (PV) modules.
P.A. Resources is Malaysia’s leading aluminium extruder company. First Solar is known as a leading global provider of comprehensive PV solar energy solutions.
The supply agreement is between P.A. Extrusion and First Solar Inc, First Solar Malaysia Sdn Bhd and First Solar Vietnam Manufacturing Co Ltd.
P.A. Resources group executive chairman Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy said the latest contract extension is the fourth from First Solar and is the biggest contract awarded to the group to date.
“This underscores the trust that First Solar has in us, which is founded on our ability to manufacture products that adhere to their stringent standard,” he said.

Given that the demand for solar energy is escalating globally, Chan said the group is proud to contribute to the shift towards green energy through its working relationship with First Solar.
He added that the latest contract win will provide P.A. Resources with stable financial growth, standing it in good stead to expand its business.
Being an investment holding company, P.A. Resources, through its subsidiaries, is principally involved in the business of aluminium extrusion and fabrication.
The group has expanded its business upstream and downstream into areas like aluminium smelting, aluminium billet production and surface finishing. It is also involved in the renewable energy sector.
