CELEBRITY Harris Alif, who became a father in January, can’t stand working and being away from his newborn daughter for too long, Harian Metro reported.
The actor-singer-host said that while at work, every time he thinks about his daughter Evie Khadeeja, he would video-call his wife, actress Intan Ladyana, to ask about their baby.
“The feeling of being a father is very different (from what I’d felt before). Every time I’m away, I can’t wait to finish work and go home.
“Only now I understand how it feels to be a father. It’s quite challenging when my wife and child are not in sight,” he said.
Harris said this year’s Ramadan provided him and his wife a new experience with Evie’s presence.
“If before we could rest after sahur and breaking fast, now we need to focus on Evie.
“Our sleep time is also getting shorter. But it’s definitely a new and fun experience,” he added.
> The daily also reported that after three years of spending Ramadan and Hari Raya away from his family, a teenager who only wanted to be known as Agus was released from the Henry Gurney School on parole last Saturday.
Agus, 18, was admitted to the school in Telok Mas, Melaka, on April 18, 2019, after committing robbery and using drugs, and was later transferred to a Henry Gurney School student placement in Kampung Sungai Ramal Dalam in Kajang, Selangor, on Jan 27 due to good behaviour.
He said he was happy to be released and glad to have the opportunity to return to his family for the festive season.
“I believe there was a reason for my being sent to the school as I’ve received religious guidance.
“And during my time at the school, I’ve never missed prayers and I even studied according to schedule,” he said.
Agus said despite disappointing his parents, he was thankful that his parents did not disowned him and visited him many times.
“I’m determined to change and plan to sit for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination,” he said, adding that he aimed to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a policeman.
