PETALING JAYA: The Star was ranked the No. 1 news portal in Malaysia in Alexa’s list of most popular sites in the country.

       According to the Amazon-owned web traffic analysis service, The Star recorded an estimated daily time of 4.52 minutes per visitor and 2.92 estimated daily unique pageviews per visitor.

       At the top of Alexa’s list of most-visited sites in Malaysia were Google, YouTube and Shopee.

       The sites in the list were ordered by their one-month Alexa traffic rank.

       The one-month rank is calculated using a combination of average daily visitors and pageviews over the past month.

       The site with the highest combination of visitors and pageviews is ranked No. 1.

       Only two news sites were on the list with The Star ranked at No. 30 and Malaysiakini at No. 39.
