Veteran actress Sue Johnston says she is in favour of assisted dying.
The former Royle Family and Brookside star, who recently turned 80, takes on the topic for her latest role as Marion in Channel 4’s new thriller Truelove.
Speaking to January’s Saga Magazine she said: “I think it’s an option that people should be able to have – it’s their life, their choice."

Sue, who is single, also reveals she would have loved a long-term relationship: “You tend not to go out for meals and things as much because you’re just there on your own. I’m not sad about it, I just get on with it, but it would have been nice.”
