There was no immediate information as to why an “unauthorized person” was briefly on the tracks at the Brookland stop.
Sherri Ly, a spokeswoman for Metro, said the person was taken into custody.

Metro said it has suspended train service on part of its Red Line because of an “unauthorized person” on the tracks.
No trains are running between NoMa-Gallaudet and Takoma stations. The person is on the tracks outside the Brookland station.
Metro officials said shuttle bus service will be provided.
