Gina Miller faces accusations from Jeremy Vine caller
Gina Miller has been left stunned after a caller to Jeremy Vine Live on 5 accused her of spearheading the downfall of Boris Johnson. Caller Richard from Milton Keynes, responding to a question about Mr Johnson being to blame for chaos within the Conservative Party, identified the Brexit-hater as leading a "multitude of people" who got the former prime minister "kicked out" of Downing Street.
He alleged: "Heading them a multitude of people bringing about the downfall of Boris Johnson was Gina who believed all of their fake news that was perpetrated on the internet. Them... got Boris kicked out of his job."
Ms Miller challenged the Government in 2016 over its authority to trigger Article 50 without parliamentary approval and won a Supreme Court case three years later over Mr Johnson's decision to prorogue Parliament as he battled to get his Brexit deal over the line.
She responded to the caller, saying: "Sorry, I took a court case... It's extraordinary that apparently the internet, with what's influenced the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court - which is a case I took that proved Boris was actually trying to put himself above... Parliament, by shutting down Parliament for too long."
Richard said in response: "I think it's very clear that Gina uses extreme words like the Conservatives [are] a mafia to gain an upper hand in an argument that quite clearly proves she doesn't actually belong on the telly, given her opinion... Boris isn't to blame for the way he lost his job.
"I'm a working-class person who voted Boris Johnson in, in the droves we did, and actually when it comes to us working class, what we seen happen to Boris quite clearly sees the establishment stating that who we voted in isn't good enough."

He added the "tide" will swing back once a political party comes along, such as the Reform Party, on promises to give the working class a "decent" standard of living.
The debate on who is to blame for the apparent "chaos" within the Conservative Party comes in a week where speculation swirled around the future of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Mr Sunak saw off the threat of rebellion on Tuesday (December 12) by winning a crunch vote in Parliament on his Rwanda Bill, which seeks to revive his plan to send some asylum seekers to Kigali for processing. He faces further opposition from hardliners on the Conservative right who want the Bill strengthened, as well as more moderate wings of his party when the Bill returns to the House next year.
Mr Johnson, who is no longer an MP, left the top job last year after a revolt by ministers sparked by scandals including Partygate. It came after he led his party to its biggest electoral victory since 1987, but then lost the support of many of his MPs.
On a trip to Australia, the former PM suggested that the Tories are in a worse position now than they were when they knifed him.

Another caller to Jeremy Vine Live on 5, Melvin, told Vine the apparent "chaos" within the Tories "just goes to show public schools do not make an iota of difference in politics".
The floating voter added: "They're all liars, cheats and thieves. Where do we go from here?"

Analysis by the Sutton Trust published in November showed almost two-thirds of Mr Sunak's top ministers attended private school, while the PM himself was educated at Winchester College.
Mr Johnson went to Eton College, where the former prime minister and current Foreign Secretary also studied before going up to Oxford University.
Vine observed: "Too many public school boys in Parliament."
