BUTTERWORTH: A 40-year-old woman was killed, raped and sodomised by a 29-year-old man high on syabu at her house here in Taman Seruling Emas, Sungai Jawi.

       According to police, the man also robbed the woman of her cash, jewellery and other valuables in the incident which occurred around 3am on Saturday. The man is believed to have broken in through a window.

       South Seberang Prai OCPD Supt Lee Chong Chern said investigations revealed that the incident happened at around 3am after the suspect took syabu with his friend and borrowed his friend’s motorcycle for a ride.

       “The suspect rode the motorcycle to the backlane of the victim’s house and climbed in through a window.

       “He found her asleep and proceeded to rape her.

       “The victim fought back and tried to scream, but the suspect muffled her mouth with her undergarment and his hand.

       “After a while, the victim stopped moving and was believed to have died, but the suspect continued raping and sodomising her,” he said.

       Supt Lee said after the suspect realised the victim was dead, he hid the body under the bed.

       He said the suspect went into hiding in Changkat Sungai Jawi but has now been arrested.
